The Effects of Zinc and Vitamin C Supplementation on the Glycemic Profile in Type 2 Diabetic Patients

Diabetes mellitus (DM) is the most common endocrine disorder and one of highly progressive diseases which indicated by high blood sugar (hyperglycemia). The present study aims to effects treatment with zinc vitamin C on glycemic profile [fasting (FBS), glycated haemoglobin (HbA1C), insulin hormone level] in type 2 diabetic patients. included 56 patients [30 without foot ulcers (15 supplements, 15 supplements) 26 11 supplements)]. Also, healthy persons were used as a control group. enrolling Azadi Teaching Hospital Kirkuk General Hospital/ city/ Iraq; their ages ranged from 30 60 years weights 70 90 kilogram. Blood samples collected studied subjects determine fasting (FBS) concentration, (HbA1C) level, level. Zinc supplements for four weeks group results showed significant (P≤0.01) decreases values FBS, HbA1C, treated (both ulcers) compared ulcers). It can be concluded that have improving impacts diabetes parameters, such insulin.
